Fortunately, Cristina was in the room at the time to see the students faces (priceless) before she ran out of the room to once again look for that missing digital camera!
So commenced the set-up of the Excel Game! As Elizabeth taught the students how to add the necessary developer tab by right clicking on the ribbon, the class discovered they didn't really know how to right click on macs! This was quickly remedied. Oh the things that PC users learn when they're forced to Mac-it for a day. =)When the class had to put combo boxes over cells, complaints soon arose as they discovered the boxes didn't fit over the cell PERFECTLY. Eddie, on the other hand, claimed that perfection for his combo boxes. "Yeah, because Eddie is just perfect," Tenzin exclaimed sarcastically.
As the lesson continued on to the copying and pasting of the combo box, Kiran pointed out that when you change the content of one box, EVERY box changes to the same content! This was a great leeway for getting into the the next lesson point: the necessity of changing the cell link...
When Elizabeth told the students about the useful feature of auto-fill, they were bummed that they had previously wasted time by repeating the same functions over and over when they could have just clicked and dragged! Nevertheless, because of all that repetition, the students learned very well functions like vLookup and the process of linking documents.
On a random note, Cherry stopped by to drop off the digital camera that was missing - it was misplaced (and should go into A.J.'s desk)! Cristina could now take pictures of the class for this blog!
Elizabeth soon introduced the concept of cell naming, along with the danger of changing these names without being careful (once they're changed, it's set in stone and there's no going back!) During worktime, Tenzin, much to his dismay, thought he have had a little mishap in this regard; he had named everything correctly, but placed it in the wrong place! A.J. was excited that he might have to restart his whole project (presumably for educational reasons ;) ). Unfortunately for A.J., "undo" was able to fix the problem. Phew! Tenzin breathed a sigh of relief.
The example game consisted of Elizabeth's player, eZoom2, and Lejia's pseudonym LejZoom, but because he had to fix something really quick, Elizabeth dropped him and picked up Kiran's Taenikyun (a Korean name she chose).
Unfortunately, problems with finding and replacing the name came up... maybe because her REAL player's name is Taekyunik! (spelled slightly differently than the above name) So.. since Kiran's didn't work, Elizabeth went crawling back to Lejia's LejZoom, "Lejia's second chance," Elizabeth said. 
Once Lejia and Elizabeth had a successful (and fair) game, the other students could start their own games. And as the games started around the room, the students started to enjoy the game more and more.
And Elizabeth got all into it with the Lord of the Rings' music which continued throughout their blogging session. The day was coming to an end...
...and then Ann came in...

Which are... A couple of the research professors are looking for skilled Vegas students to come and video tape them (for records of their research)! Whether it is paid or not, this is a great networking opportunity for these students. Plus, A.J. will even mentor those who are interested (so those who want it will most definitely do a great job)!
