The class started with the students taking the Learn@UW quiz. Kevin started showing the students how to set up their player profile. He showed the students how to use the Developer Tab to add combo boxes to the player profile so that they could be later used for adding weapons or armor. He went through using the formulas (sum, vlookup) to set your combo boxes and fields to work properly. The students were shown how to name their cells and were warned that if they name them wrong, they would have to restart their sheet. The class had a 10 minute break and started working on their player profiles when they came back.
By the second break, almost everyone was done with their player profile (aside from the back row, and Henry, who gave up...) Students were getting up and helping each other.
The students complained when we told them to turn off their monitors and leave the room for their second break but they eventually complied.
